Making fresh toasted rice powder is very simple. It’s best when used after making, but you can store it at room temperature in a dry airtight container for up to 1 week. Any longer and it will lose most of its flavor. Makes about 1/4 cup Ingredients 1/4 cup sticky rice (aka: sweet rice or glutinous rice) Toasting 1. Place rice in small skillet over medium-medium low heat. 2. Shake the skillet until toasted golden brown. Approximately 5 minutes. Depends on your heating source. Best to toast it on lower heat to prevent burning. 3. Cool. 4. Grind to a powder with mortar and pestle. 5. Add it to your dish for a subtle sweet nutty flavor.
